IGCAR Recruitment 2026 overview
The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research has invited online applications for engagement of 200 ITI Trade Apprentices across 18 trades, including Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Welder, Machinist, PASAA, Plumber, Instrument Mechanic, and others at its Kalpakkam campus. Candidates must possess an ITI Pass Certificate in the relevant trade to be eligible. Apprentices will receive a stipend as per the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025 notified by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be applicable as per Central Government rules.

The official notification provides complete details regarding trade-wise vacancies, eligibility criteria, age limit, stipend, selection procedure, and document verification process. Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government, PSU, or Private organization are not eligible to apply. Selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the ITI course, followed by document verification and a medical examination. Before joining, selected candidates must execute a Contract of Apprenticeship and complete the prescribed training.

- Obtain the unique Apprentice Registration Number before applying.
