NEET SS Exam Pattern: National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) By National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS) Knowing the exam pattern of exam 2025 is necessary for all those candidates who are preparing for this exam. This exam is conducted in computer -based test ie online mode, in which a total of 150 multiple choice questions are asked, which are given 2 hours 30 minutes to the candidates to solve it.
The question paper is divided into three parts and each part consists of 50 questions which have been fixed for 50 minutes to solve, according to the marking system, every correct answer gets 4 marks while 1 point is deducted on the wrong answer. If a question is left, it does not get any marks nor cut. Understanding this pattern, candidates can prepare their preparation better and take the exam with confidence with time management.
NEET SS Exam Pattern 2025
- The exam will be held in Computer Based Test mode.
- The type of questions will be multiple choice.
- The question paper will be in English language only.
- A total of 150 questions will be asked.
- Each question will be of 4 digits.
- +4 marks will be given on the correct answer.
- The wrong answer will be deducted.
- There will be no marks on the unanswered question.
- The total time will be 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes).
- The question paper is divided into 3 sections, each section will have 50 questions and 50 minutes.
- The maximum total marks will be 600.
- Section 1 – Subject related to super specialty, 50 questions, time 50 min, +4 marks on the correct answer, –1 marks on the wrong answer
- Section 2 – Super specialty topics, 50 questions, time 50 min, +4 marks on the correct answer, –1 marks on the wrong answer
- Section 3 – Super specialty topics, 50 questions, time 50 min, +4 marks on the correct answer, –1 marks on the wrong answer
NEET SS Exam Syllabus 2025
- Syllabus Two parts are divided – Part A and Part B.
- Part a It consists of general medical sciences and clinical subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, obstrux and gynecology, annesthesia etc.
- Part b The subjects related to the selected super specialty of the candidate are included. For example – Cardiology: Cardiac pathology, heart failure, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, Neurology: Neurological disorders, neuroimming, stroke management, neurophysiology, Gastroenterology: Liver disease, pancreatic disorders, inflammatory bowl disease, endoscopy, Endocrinology: Diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, Surgical specialty: Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Oncology.
- The NEET SS has a total of 13–15 super specialty groups, including medical, surgical, pediatrics, obsthetrix and gynecology, orthopedics, etc.
- Questions are divided by about 60% super specialty (part b) and 40% feeder from broad specialty (Part A).
