RRB Group D Exam Pattern: Railway Recruitment Board (Group D Exam 2025 is one of the biggest examinations to get jobs in the RRB, in which lakhs of candidates participate, through this exam, the track maintainer, helper, assistant and many other posts are recruited. Understanding the pattern of the exam is very important for the candidates preparing, because the correct strategy can be made on this basis. This includes stages like computer based examination i.e. CBT, Physical Efficiency Test i.e. PET and document verification.
To make your preparation effective, it is important to take care of some things. First of all, solve the question paper of previous years so that you can understand the pattern and difficulty level of questions, practice daily questions, as they require both speed and accuracy. Practice time management through mock test and maintain peace at the time of examination. Also, include regular exercise and race in your routine for physical efficiency test.
RRB Group D Selection Process
1. Computer Based Examination (CBT)
- This is the first stage.
- It has 100 questions (100 marks, 90 minutes time).
- Subject: Mathematics, General Science, Reasoning, General Awareness and Current Affairs.
- Negative marking is applicable (0.25 points cut on each wrong answer).
- Only CBT The qualifying candidates are called in the next stage.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- PET has to be given after passing CBT.
- It has different standards for male and female candidates.
3. Document Verification – DV
- CBT + PET qualifying candidates are called.
- Educational qualification, caste certificate (if applicable), identity card etc. are examined.
4. Medical Test
- The final stage has a medical fitness test.
- The candidate must be fit according to the medical standards of the railway.
RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2025 (Level-1)
Computer Based Examination (CBT)
- Total Question: 100
- Total marks: 100
- Time: 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes)
- Question Type: Multiple Chopper (MCQ)
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted on every wrong answer
Subject wise question distribution:
- General Science → 25 Questions → 25 Marks
- Mathematics → 25 questions → 25 marks
- General intelligence and reasoning → 30 questions → 30 marks
- General Awareness and Current Affairs → 20 Questions → 20 Marks
- Total → 100 Questions → 100 Marks
RRB Group D Exam Pattern (Level-2)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
For male candidates:
- Lifting 35 kg of weight will have to be covered without dropping 100 meters in 2 minutes.
- The 1000 meter race will have to be completed in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
For women candidates:
- The 20 kg weight will have to be picked up in a distance of 100 meters without dropping it in 2 minutes.
- The 1000 meter race will have to be completed in 5 minutes 40 seconds.
